|Investment pays off at Plymouth Yacht Haven||02-06-2015|
|Plymouth Yacht Haven has always been a popular marina for boating enthusiasts thanks to its impressive premium facilities and service. Following a £400,000 redevelopment to provide additional new luxurious facilities, the marina has retained its prestigious Five Gold Anchors award and will once again host the finish of the Rolex Fastnet Race, proving that investment really does pay off.
BUILDING ON LUXURY
After five months of extensive building work and a £400,000 investment, the marina’s latest development delivers even more luxurious facilities, emphasising Yacht Havens’ focus on exceeding customer expectations.
Visitors will be treated to top quality facilities including luxury showers, underfloor heating, generous washrooms, well equipped laundry facilities, eco-friendly features and an impressive bath suite. The redevelopment has been modelled on the marina group’s successful flagship site at Lymington and has been well received by berth holders.
Marina Manager Steve Kitchen said of the redevelopment, “As one of the south west’s Five Gold Anchor award-winning marinas, we are continually looking at ways to improve and update our marina, and also to ensure our customer service is of the very highest standard. We endeavour to ‘go the extra mile’ and this is why many of our customers have been with us for years. For us, the focus always remains on ensuring our berth holders and visitors continue to get the very best out of their boating and leisure time.”
RETAINING FIVE GOLD ANCHORS
For the second time in succession, Plymouth Yacht Haven has been awarded the prestigious Five Gold Anchors award by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA). Scoring the highest possible marks in a variety of categories, they are extremely proud to fly the flag of excellence along with two other of the Yacht Havens Group’s marinas - Largs Yacht Haven and Lymington Yacht Haven.
Steve Kitchen, Marina Manager, commented, “We’re delighted that the British Marine Federation and TYHA have recognised that Plymouth Yacht Haven is far more than just a place to keep your boat. The quality of marine services in Plymouth is outstanding. We are located in some of the finest sailing grounds in Europe and our city hosts some of the world’s best sailors and races.”
HOSTING THE FINISH OF THE ROLEX FASTNET RACE 2015
Following the huge success of the Rolex Fastnet Race’s new venue at Mount Batten in 2013 and Plymouth Yacht Haven’s involvement, race finishers and hundreds of boats and their crews are set to arrive between August 18th and 21st and will once again be provided with berthing at Plymouth Yacht Haven.
As this year also marks the 90th anniversary of the Royal Ocean Racing Club, a record-sized fleet - featuring as many as 350 boats - is expected to take part in the biennial race. To cope with the increasing numbers of participants, RORC have announced Plymouth Yacht Haven as the 2015 hosts of the Race Village due to their capacity to supply the extra berthing and facilities required by the thousands of sailors who come from all corners of the globe to participate in this iconic race.
“We’re delighted to have been chosen to host the finish of the Rolex Fastnet again. It is great confirmation that Plymouth Yacht Haven is recognised as the ‘very best’ of the South West’s Five Gold Anchor marinas," said Steve Kitchen.
