Boaters and watersport enthusiasts of all types are invited to take part in a survey to collect data for a major new report examining the economic, social and health benefits of boating and watersports in the UK, and the contribution that they make to wellbeing in the UK.
Whilst the physical and mental health benefits of being on or near the water are well-known to individuals, it is only recently that Government is increasingly factoring well-being into their decision making. This piece of research will demonstrate with empirical evidence the contribution that being out on the water makes to societal wellbeing. The report will be used to help in industry lobbying and representation work to ensure support from policy and decision makers, as well as funders and partners, to secure the future of boating, watersports, waterways, coastlines and blue space.
